The purpose of this is to add or link to some unique aspects of VFR flying.
I have little new stuff to offer here — I point to other worthy teachers!

Stick & Rudder Skills
Things I think a competent pilot should be good at
- Airspeed Perfection in Pattern (± 2 kts on each leg)
- Spot Landings (without power)
- Lindbergh Reference Flying
- Fly your pitch, roll, and yaw perfectly just looking out a small slice of the winshield (See description here)
- Flight at minimum controllable airspeed
- Intentional Slips and recovery
- Detailed knowledge of slips vs skids and spins
Other Cool Stuff
3D Airspace in Google Maps
I like to get creative on Google Maps with a bit of computer programming that provides rich imagery
Files and Images
- The links below give you "snapshot" images of the airspace
- The .kml files are fully interactive in Google Earth
- Turn on individual "rings" or layers
- Turn on/off underlying landmarks
- Select which points to display
- "Fly" through and beneath the layers to see how the airspace works
